Cycle Scheme
Helping people get between the villages and Cambridge without having to take the main roads.
Routes across the estate
Estate tracks and permissive paths fill in gaps that the public road network leaves behind.
Trumpington sits on one of the busiest approaches into Cambridge, and for families and children the main roads are not a realistic option. Where the estate holds land between the villages and the city, we allow cycling on tracks and permissive routes to give people an alternative.
We maintain the surfaces, keep vegetation cut back and work with the local authority and cycling groups on where routes should connect. Some sections cross working farmland, so signage and gates are there to keep both riders and farm operations safe.
Full route maps are being prepared and will be published on this page.
