Most people living beside a farm have never been on one. We would like to change that.
Opening the estate up
We host school groups, colleges and community visits to show how food is grown and how land is managed.
Visits are built around what is actually happening on the farm at the time — drilling, spraying, harvest, hedge-laying or tree planting — rather than a fixed script. Groups see the machinery, the crops and the habitat work side by side.
For older students and college groups we can cover the commercial and environmental side too: rotations and margins, environmental schemes, and the planning pressures that come with farming on the edge of a growing city.
We also work with local schools on the estate's footpaths and green space, and support the cycle scheme that helps children get to school off the main roads.
