Our History
The estate has farmed this land through generations of change on the southern edge of Cambridge.
A working estate, not a museum
The land has been farmed continuously while the city beside it grew — and both have shaped the other.
Trumpington sits at the point where Cambridge gives way to open Cambridgeshire farmland. For most of its history that made it a farming village; more recently it has become one of the city's main directions of growth, with the Biomedical Campus and new neighbourhoods arriving on the doorstep.
Through all of it the estate has kept farming, letting homes and looking after land. The buildings have changed use more than once — barns becoming workshops, farmyards becoming business units — but the underlying approach has not.

Why the long view matters
Decisions taken on an estate like this play out over decades: a woodland planted now, a lease signed for twenty years, land brought forward for development.
Being answerable to the next generation rather than to a quarterly report is what allows those decisions to be made properly.
